Getting Here

Coming from the South

There are two options when driving from the South, the lakeside option or the mountain pass option.

For the lakeside option (advised in bad weather/visibility)

• Follow the M6 northbound. Exit at junction 40 signed Penrith and Keswick.
• Take the 1st exit onto A66 towards Keswick.
• At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A592. Follow the A592 for 12 miles to Glenridding.
• Once in Glenridding turn right onto Greenside Road (signs into a Car Park).
  
• Continue on Greenside Road following it round to the left passing the Traveller’s Rest pub (on your right).
• Continue to follow Greenside Road for approximately one mile. You will pass the YMCA on your left and the Bury Jubilee Centre is approx. 100 m past this through 2 gates.
  
• Please note that some of Greenside Road is single track and not tarmaced. Please take care when driving to the Centre.

For the mountain pass option

• Follow the M6 northbound.  Exit at junction 36 and take the exit to Barrow/Kendal/A591/Kirkby Lonsdale/A65.
• At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A590, continue straight onto A591.
• At Ings turn right onto Mislet Brow.
• Continue onto Moorhowe Road, take a slight right onto Fusethwaite Lane.
• Turn right onto the A592, continue through Troutbeck and Patterdale.
• Just after the Glenridding Hotel turn left onto Greenside Road (signs into a Car Park).
• Continue on Greenside Road following it round to the left passing the Traveller’s Rest pub (on your right).
• Continue to follow Greenside Road for approximately one mile. You will pass the YMCA on your left and the Bury Jubilee Centre is approx. 100 m past this through 2 gates.
